How to Dress Like A Poker Player?

One of the toughest decisions to make as a poker player is not what hands to play but what to wear to a poker game. If you’re laying in bed, munching on your favorite snacks while playing the game online, a comfortable night suit (pyjamas, shorts, boxers, loose T-shirt etc.) does the trick. But what if you are battling it out on a poker table with the pros? Let us look at a few poker fashion tips and tricks that’ll help you dress to the T and bring in your A game.

Tip 1 : Comfort is the key essential

A poker tournament can go on for hours at a stretch hence it is important to be comfortable. A pair of sunglasses with a hoodie and sneakers can be your go to outfit for comfort. You can also opt for shorts, sports shoes and a comfortable T-shirt. There are some rules when it comes to comfort too. Flip flops, bathroom slippers, vests, tank tops and ragged clothes are a big NO-NO.

Tip 2 : Grooming is of essence

A lot of times in lieu of casual behavior, players often forget the simple mantra of life : cleanliness is next to godliness. You will be playing at the poker table for long hours so it is essential that you are clean, carry a good deodorant and sanitize your hands properly. No one likes to set next to someone with greasy palms, bad body and mouth odor and unkempt hair and clothes.

It is necessary and of utmost importance that hygiene is taken care of.

Tip 3 : Dress to Impress

If you are amongst the lot that prefers style and sharp dressing to turn heads, you have to make sure that your sense of style is not too overwhelming. For males, you can go ahead with a simple three piece suit, a tie/bow tie if you like to add to the details of your attire. The shoes worn should be formal and your hair should be set back in a sleek fashion. For instance, the suave look by Daniel Negreanu at the WSOP is a head turner for sure.

For all the beautiful ladies out there, you can opt for a power suit, a cocktail dress or a formal skirt with a fancy white blouse along with a blazer.

Tip 4 : Accessories work wonders

A very common practice at the poker table is cool accessorising that helps in camouflaging the poker face. You can opt for a cool hat (not the cowboy hat but the simple baseball hat), uber swanky headphones or sunglasses.
