1.Daniel Negreanu

Being awarded the best poker player of the decade, Daniel Negreanu was inducted in the “Poker Hall of Fame” in 2014. He has a history of winning a whopping six bracelets at World Series of Poker and two World Poker Tour championship titles. He has won the title of “WSOP Poker Player of the year” twice, making him the only person in the world to achieve this feat. His nickname “Kid Poker” came about when he became the youngest player at the time to win $169,460 in the $2,000 Pot Limit Hold’em event in the 1998 World Series of Poker. He is extremely chatty and friendly at the poker table which at times does intimidate the fellow players at the table.

He has been quite open about his poker results and further adds that the skillset of reading people accurately at the Poker table is what makes him stand out of the pool.

2. Phil Ivey

Phil Ivy is touted as the “Tiger Woods of Poker.” With ten WSOP bracelets on his belt, one WPT title and maximum number of victories under the mixed-bag categories, he is regarded as one of the best players in the poker universe. He is known for making his fellow opponents uneasy with his mind games and often has the best bluff hands. He was also called “No Home Jerome” in lieu of the Fake ID he used in his initial teen years to play big hands at the Poker tables. His total earnings cross $12 million from winning at WSOP alone.

3. Doug Polk

Doug Polk alias WCG Rider is a retired poker player. He had dropped out of college to pursue his poker career full-time. He was one of the best online cash game poker players by 2013. He is known to be exceptionally vocal and outspoken at the poker table. He has also criticised Daniel Negreanu for underestimating him. He now runs a full time YouTube channel and also deals with cryptocurrency.

4. Chris Moneymaker

Chris Moneymaker’s win in 2003 has changed the poker landscape and created history. He had become the world’s number one after qualifying at an online Poker site. In his words, “it is beyond fairytale. It is inconceivable” Moneymaker beat the big bag legend Sam Farha heads up and also outlasted top notch poker players such as Johnny Chan(who is his hero), Phil Ivey, Phil Hellmuth, Humberto Brenes and Howard Lederer. Although Moneymaker started big and was made into a big media sensation but his success was short lived. Even after a series of losses, he is still one of the most recognizable faces of the poker world. He has managed to keep up his net worth by endorsement deals and public appearances.

5. Phil Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth is a serial winner! He has won a staggering fifteen WSOP bracelets making him the only player to win them and has earned his position righteously as a Poker Legend. He has been nicknamed as “The Poker Brat” due to his temperamental behaviour and the tantrums that he throws at the Poker table. Playing with Phil can be pretty intimidating. He is someone that everyone in the Poker sphere loves to hate. He is quite animated at the poker table and in his own words, he would win all tournaments if luck wasn’t involved.
