PokerFace With Gopal Datt, a highly entertaining poker chat show is hosted by Mr Gopal Datt (Internet’s funny man), known for his work in films like Tere Naam, Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai and National award winner Filmistaan. Datt shot to fame with Cyrus Broacha’s The Week That Wasn’t, TVF web series Pitchers and multiple AIB sketches. Most recently, the actor was appreciated for his work in the highly praised Netflix series, Delhi Crime.

The chat show is the first of its kind which celebrates the lives and stories of poker players and digital actors. The 1st episode of the show, hosted by Gopal Datt, features Amol Parashar, of TVF Tripling fame, and one of India’s top poker players Nishant Sharma. Last year, Nishant created history by becoming the first Indian player to finish 34th in the World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas. Nishant almost never got his father’s permission to play but explains the deal he made with his dad – Maine unhe bola ki if my brother says it is gambling, then I won’t play, I will join your office, but if he says it is not gambling and is a skill game, then you will give me license to play professionally

The 2nd episode dives into the lives of TVFs bean Bag, Badri Chavan, known for his work in TVF Bachelors and Stree and another upcoming poker champ, Deepak Bothra. In this episode, Badri Chavan talks about his life, family and how he got into Bachelors. He draws a comparison between poker and his career – acting mei toh ekdum ulta hai, emotions se ekdum judke rehna hai apne character ke, and shares his life-changing story after getting famous.

The 3rd episode in this super fun and the candidly hilarious show features amateur poker player Amresh Kumar who started his poker journey with 9stacks and Tiktok and Instagram influencer, Radhika Bangia, best known for Irada, Weekend and Ashish Chanchlani Vines. Amresh gives us some insight into his Vegas trip – Vegas alag hi sheher hai. Jab aap Vegas jaate ho na, toh ghoomne nikalne ke vajayeh, aap casino mei hi reh jaate ho.

The 4th episode features two extremely skilled poker players, Sanjay Taneja and Jaideep Sajwan, along with the social media influencer Shreya Mehta aka Filmykudi. The episode focuses on the Guru Chela Jodi of Sanjay and Jaideep and dives into their poker journey. Pointing at Jaideep, Sanjay says – Ab age dekh ke aisa lagega ki mai guru tha, lekin guru toh yeh hain mere. Shreya, on the other hand, tells us her funny story of getting into the entertainment industry.

The 5th episode features the lead of the popular show -Rabish ki Report – Shivankit Parihar, along with poker players Jagdeep Singh & Pratibha Arya. The show begins with Shivankit acting as Rabish, following which Jagdeep and Pratibha tell us how they got into the world of poker and the apprehensions of their parents. Jagdeep says – They were a little disappointed because the entire path they had built for me had been shattered until online poker came. Pratibha gave a more candid description – My mom was scandalised!

The final episode features TV actor, Smriti Khanna and poker player Sajal Gupta. This delightful episode begins with Gopal asking Sajal, who achieved a rank of 22 all over the IITs in India, how a studious science student like him got into poker – Aap kuch khelte ho toh, apka man karta hai ki mai ache se khelu.Smriti then tells us about her journey towards acting, modeling and jewellery designing, and gives her perspective on the role of social media in the future of games and its players.
